Elias S. G. Carotti received the Laurea degree in Computer Engineering in 2000, and the Ph.D. degree in computer engineering in 2004, both from the Politecnico di Torino, Turin, Italy. In 2003 he was a Visiting Researcher at the Electrical Engineering department, Penn State University, State College, PA, where he worked on joint source channel decoding for predictively encoded sources. He is currently a post-doc researcher at the Politecnico di Torino. His main research interests are image and video coding (especially focusing on lossless coding) and EMG signal coding.
